Short weekend trip to the west of Donegal and the Glencolumcille area.

Today Derry is crying. Everybody is leaving this wonderful place, and we will have to stay alone :-(

10,001 Santas: We are the champions!

The man behind Derry's bid to secure its place in the Guinness Book of Records - by having the most Santas in the one place at the one time - says Sunday's event will 'go down in history'. Martin Mullan, chief organiser of the 10,001 Santas event, described Sunday’s turnout - estimated in the region of 13,000 people - as “phenomenal”.

“I am the proudest man in the whole world,” he said. “Many said we’d never do it but the streets of Derry were a sea of red and white and we proved them wrong.

“We may be a small city compared with Liverpool, Las Vegas and Glasgow but the people of Derry have a big heart and that's what we have shown the world by achieving this. Everyone here is a winner because they believed we could do it."

People turned out in their thousands to support the four beneficiaries of the project - Foyle Hospice, Macmillan Cancer Support, iCARE and Children in Crossfire.
